Today we had just shy of 2200 head pass through the ring. It seems early, but the calf run is most certainly in full swing. With the bigger numbers naturally comes market pressures. Today the pressure was very evident on the heifer calves, most middle weight heifers sold $5-8 lower.

The steers held their own. Generally, I would call the 450-550 weight steers maybe $3-5 off. This is a very natural direction for the market as thousands of bawling calves head to market.

The cow/bull trade today appeared steady with last week.
