We had a nice sized sale today with 2000 feeder cattle and 600 cows. Again, our futures market made a major pull back earlier in the week and caused some pressure in certain areas of the feeder cattle market. The number one steers sold mostly steady, however, the same could not be said for any of the medium quality cattle and heifers. Most heifers sold 5-8$ lower with the exception of some replacement quality heifers.

The cull cows today were 5-8$ lower, likely caused by the high number of cows coming to town all across Alberta & Saskatchewan. Bulls were barely steady, maybe 2-3$ lower, on a light test. The cattle market is at an all-time high, which is wonderful, but it means higher-than-normal volatility as major cattle buyers attempt to manage their market risk, inventory, and financial situations at these new levels.

Our next Presort & Regular sale is Wednesday, November 15.
