Today we had 1800 feeder cattle and roughly 300 cows & bulls. The calves were about 70% steers and 30% heifers, this may be an interesting trend to follow. The calves as a whole sold steady to stronger. More specifically, the light to middle weight calves sold fully steady. Some 550lb Red Exotic steers brough 394.00cwt. The heavier steers, 625lb and up, sold $3-5 stronger. The quality over all was very good, which certainly helps.

The cows and bulls sold $3-5 lower. Basic supply and demand are pressuring the cow market lower. It will likely take some time for tides to turn on that trend.
