Yesterday we had a nice run of cattle. The calves have started to move a little, with 450 on offer yesterday. The steer calves traded very steady with the past 2 week, light 350-375lb steers have brought 5.00/lb. The middle weight 550lb steers brought 375-392.
The heifer calves continue to sell at an elevated discount to the steers, 40-60c/lb. At this point it is hard to tell if the heifers are good buying or the steers are just really high!
The yearlings sold very strong again today, some 945lb steers sold for 3.19/lb, as well as some 931lb hfrs for 2.97/lb.
The cows, however, sold for 5-7.00 lower. Bulls were steady.
