| Comments | 1106hd of cattle traded hands on this snowy day in Vermilion. The cow market straight across felt fully steady to $3/cwt higher on both slaughter and feeder style cows. The bulls showed a lot of aggression trading at least $10-15 higher than last week, with the high selling bull trading for $336/cwt. The feeder cattle were up as well following a very good week on the futures, trading $10/cwt across the board. The grass weight cattle continue to be heavily fought over with some 767lb tan heifers trading at $520/cwt ($3988.40). There was also a group of 589lb heifers trade at $682.50/cwt ($4019.93). We had quite a few palpated heifers to sell today that traded hands as well, which sold anywhere from $4150-$4525. The handful of young bred cows we sold traded hands from $5000-$7100. Thank you and have a great rest of your week! |
