Today, we had a good run of feeder cattle and cows. 3700 feeder cattle, and 480 cows & bulls.
The feed cattle market showed resilience with all weight class selling fully steady and some heifer groups seen $3-5 increases. This calf market is at record levels and refuses to be pushed lower by seasonal trends or technicalities.
The cow market seemed to bounce a tiny bit today after a fairly substantial correction last week. I would expect to see a bit of turbulence in the cull market over the next little while as plants and feeders attempt to find a level.
