Today we had a nice little run of feeder cattle. The steers sold fully steady - some black steers at 425lb sold for $776/cwt and some at 614lbs sold for $596/cwt. The heifer calves sold barely steady - some 500lb heifers sold for $610/cwt and some 573lb one-owner heifers sold for $580.

The market as a whole is very similar to what we seen a year ago. The kind of stability we have seen so far this fall has been very rare in the past, and very different from the volatility in the fat market, which is a testament to the desire the feedlots have for full pens.
