Today, we had a small run of feeder cattle that sold into a very active market. These calf prices are very impressive. Some 352lb steers brought $925/cwt. All classes of calves sold $8-12 higher today. The yearlings also sold $5-10 stronger, some 810lb steers brought $555/cwt and 800lb heifers at $530/cwt.

Cows and bulls sold $3-5 stronger. The feeding cows traded mostly $220-235/cwt and kill cows from $210-225/cwt. Bulls traded steady from $230-245/cwt.

Our last bred sale of 2024 was well attended. The offering was mostly cows, with a few bred heifers. The top quality heifers weighing over 1100lb brought $4500-5000, the 1000-1100lb heifers sold mostly $4000-4500, and heifers under 1000lb sold $3300-3600.

The dispersal cows sold were very well received. Young to middle aged cows sold from $4500-5000. Aged cows were $3500-4000.

Producers are looking for good quality females that have productive years left and they are willing to pay good money when they find them. We have a bred sale in February 2025, watch the calendar for specific dates!
