Today we had a very nice offering of bred cows and heifers. The dispersal cows sold in very strong demand. The top young dispersal cows sold $4800-5500, middle-aged cows sold $4000-4500. Good sound mature cows sold either side of $4000. Herd reduction cows sold $200-300 less than the dispersal cows but were still very strong. Bred heifers sold from $4500-5100.
Overall, there seems to be lots of optimism in every corner of the industry however buyers are demanding quality and youth when they are making substantial investment in females.

Today's bred heifer and cow sale was very well attended and there were some top-quality bred females. The full sale results can be viewed by clicking the link, but the 1150-1300lb heifers brought $5000 - $5500 with sales up to $6000. The 1000-1150lb heifers traded mostly $4300 - $4900. The young cows traded from $4600 - $5000 with sales up to $5900. The more mature cows traded from $3200 - $4000.
