The ongoing heat wave drew in a seasonal summer sale. The slaughter type cows sold fully steady to $3.00 lower. The bull market was also $5-$10 lower than last week. The feeder type cows continue to sell strong with some selling just over $240/cwt.

The futures have been continuing into a very bullish run, setting new records almost every day, showing a lot of promise for the upcoming fall run.

Today's bred heifer and cow sale was very well attended and there were some top-quality bred females. The full sale results can be viewed by clicking the link, but the 1150-1300lb heifers brought $5000 - $5500 with sales up to $6000. The 1000-1150lb heifers traded mostly $4300 - $4900. The young cows traded from $4600 - $5000 with sales up to $5900. The more mature cows traded from $3200 - $4000.
